MISSION

The NJABA Student Committee’s mission is to provide opportunities for student growth and development, advocate for student participation in behavior analytic activities, and facilitate connections across universities in order to disseminate behavior analysis to the broader community.

NJABA Student Committee mission is “promoting student growth and development.”

Core Values:

  • Advocating for students and student participation in NJABA
  • Facilitating connections between students in different behavior analysis university programs
  • Promoting growth of students in the field of ABA
  • Promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion among NJABA student members

Goals:

  • Spread information about behavior analysis to current high school and college-level students
  • Discuss the domains of behavior analysis, including training and job opportunities specific to the interests of students
  • Facilitate networking opportunities for students and provide opportunities for professional development (e.g., guest speakers, workshops, participation in research opportunities)
  • Disseminate research through a variety of activities (e.g., study groups/peer groups for BCBA supervision and exam)
  • Arrange mentorship opportunities to students enrolled in different behavior analysis programs in NJ
  • Collaborate with NJ-based university training programs to ensure students’ needs are being met
  • Inform students of behavior analytic applications in fields beyond developmental disabilities (e.g., sports, health, addiction)
